A River of Seeds:

The Setting Sun: tertulia + tarot

Wednesday October 1, 18—21

SUOMEKSI

A river of seeds consists of four performance-ceremonies to take place at Galleria Oksasenkatu 11 in 2025. Together, they explore the themes of death and rebirth, beginnings and endings. Understanding ceremonies as gatherings rooted in gratitude, attention, and connection, the cycle offers audiences an intimate yet collective framework to grieve, hope, celebrate, and release. Each session adopts a particular format and explores the intersections between ritual and art, performance and ceremony.

A river of seeds is curated by Candama, a platform that offers art and poetic consultancy services. Candama is a project by artist and curator Daniela Pascual Esparza, through which she creates a context for her practice while nurturing collaborations with other artists and professionals.

The fourth and last ceremony of the cycle, The Setting Sun, is happening on Wednesday, 1.10, 18–21. Find all the information below!

The Setting Sun: tertulia + tarot

Join me for the last performance-ceremony of A river of seeds. We’ll gather on Wednesday, October 1st, at 18:00 for an evening of tarot readings. Our overarching theme: how to find an ending?

True to Candama's nature, this session is a poetic experiment. I’ll begin with an introduction to tarot and host a collective reading for all. After this, the floor is open to informal chats, a quick dive into card-reading tips, journaling, imagining rituals, and eventually, finding an end.

The experience is participatory: I’ll share prompts and questions to help us connect with the cards. You are welcome to come as you are –listening and observing is already enough. Now, please bring a drink to share and let's get this tertulia started!

Everyone is free to leave once the collective reading is over, and whoever wants to stay can mingle until 21:00. The session will happen in English, and the decks are in different languages. No previous tarot experience is needed!

Participation is free of charge. We have a limit of 12 participants, register here: https://forms.gle/r3aqfKYHZzA77XAU7

The gallery space is unfortunately inaccessible for wheelchairs, and there is no elevator. It has two floors connected by steep stairs that we will use during the ceremony. More information on accessibility here: https://oksasenkatu11.fi/about
